5 Pauper EDH commanders from Tarkir: Dragonstorm that im most excited about!

You look so good to me, you look so far away

Art:Cori Mountain Stalwart By Josiah ‘Jo’ Cameron

Tarkir: Dragonstorm is coming soon, and you know what that means! More Pauper EDH cards and, more importantly, more Pauper EDH commanders, I wanted to showcase commanders that I have been loving for the upcoming set and give people a chance to see them and catch up if they were unable to catch spoilers seasons; Tarkir:Dragonstorm isn’t fully spoiled yet and already has some awesome commanders! Without further ado, let’s get it

Honorable Mention: Cori Mountain Stalwart

I think this card is perfect for a Boros aggro strategy but I think it may be a little bit too slow overall which is why it didn’t make the actual list, this is a card that I want to experiment with and think is going to be alright but not better than any of the other cards on this list. This is one that I hope I am wrong about, and it’s busted, but for now, I put it as an honorable mention and think it’s just ok.

#5: Aegis Sculptor

I am in love with this card, I love Voltron decks and think this is going to be an amazing Voltron commander, built in ward in a color that has access to amazing protection and counterspells like Shore Up and Turn Aside as well as a bunch of great Voltron pieces like Alexi's Cloak, I’m a big fan of this one and think it will be widely played within the format, Im already itching to brew this one!

#4: Marshal of the Lost

This card is really strong and lends itself very well to being in Orzhov, Orzhov is amazing at tokens and spamming the board with creatures, but something was always missing a big sweeping finisher or a card that can push them over the top in combat, Marshal of the Lost brings all of that as well as deathtouch to the mix. With the removal and protection available to Orzhov, it is very easy to keep this one on the field; this card is a bomb, and it being at #4 should show you how good some of the commanders in this set are.

#3: Skirmish Rhino

If you were there for Khans of Tarkir and remember Siege Rhino you can already tell how good Skirmish Rhino is, this card is aggressive and can provide a nice life-swing, I think this card is absolutely perfect for an Abzan stompy deck that buffs its creatures up and swings hard, whether you go traditional stompy or focus on a +1/+1 counter strategy having a trample creature that can deal damage very quickly and provide a damage/life swing within the command zone is extremely strong, I think this card is going to be quite powerful.

#2: Krumar Initiate

This card is a powerhouse and can deal a ridiculous amount of damage to opponents, being able to buff it up as much as we want and swing hard is the true name of the game for this deck, this commander is a finisher, whether we pay life slowly over turns or go for one big hit, this can be really good, with cards like Whispersilk Cloak as well as our protection like Feign Death at our disposal we can keep this on the board and be a force in combat. This card is very strong, mono-black gets another win here.

#1: Host of the Hereafter

They would have to reveal some absolutely busted cards for me to ever take this out of the number one spot from the set, this card is just insane, we basically got The Ozolith within Pauper EDH, let’s be real +1/+1 counters in Golgari absolutely didn’t need any more help since they have so many great options within the color combo, but this card is just busted, pack your protection when you are playing this one because if I see this card at a table where I’m playing I’m removing it as soon as possible.

Conclusion:

I hope you all enjoyed this short and sweet one today, I think that all of these cards are going to have a pretty big impact on the format, Tarkir:Dragonstorm is looking like an absolutely amazing set for Pauper EDH, and I cant wait for the full set to be regaled so that we can rate all of the cards and commanders. Stay tuned and tap in!
