Our final article in the series going over budget and non-budget upgrades of all of the Tarkir:Dragonstorm decks! Today is the finale as we finally finish them up, and we finish off with a very nice deck. Sultai Arisen is a very cool graveyard/reanimator-focused precon that, with some non-budget upgrades and some budget upgrades, can become a true force to be reckoned with. I had a blast doing all of these articles, and I am excited to finally shore them up. Without further ado, let’s get it!

On TCGPlayer, copies of Entomb range from 10 to 15 dollars; some copies are a little cheaper, depending on the version.
Cut:
While it is a little more pricey and wasn’t able to make the cut for the budget upgrades Entomb is absolutely a necessary card in this deck, its just an amazing card for a graveyard focused deck, being able to put bombs like Life from the Loam or a huge creature to reanimate is extremely strong for our deck. I cut casualties mostly because of cost, and we already have better and cheaper removal within the deck. Six Mana is a lot for an effect like this, and we are a “selfish” style deck where we mostly care about doing what we do as opposed to what our opponents are doing.

On TCGPlayer, copies of Out of the Tombs range from 10 to 15 dollars; some copies are a little cheaper, depending on the version.
Cut:
It’s certainly no secret that we mill a lot of cards throughout the course of the game, because of that we can certainly get close to the end of our deck and that is the main reason we are running out of the tombs, being able to survive past milling our whole deck is really strong, the reanimation is quite nice as well. Phyrexian Reclamation is just a very slow Regrowth effect that also costs life, an easy cut in my eyes.
Add:
On TCGPlayer, copies of Diabolic Intent range from 10 to 12 dollars; some copies are a little cheaper, depending on the version.
Cut:
Necromantic Selection suffers from the same problem that a lot of precon decks have: really expensive cards. Selection is a good effect but certainly not better than something like Living Death and definitely not worth it. Diabolic Intent, on the other hand, allows us to tutor and sac a creature, which is kind of the best of both worlds for only two mana. Being able to do both allows us to get what we want immediately and get a key creature in the graveyard.
Add:
On TCGPlayer, copies of Exploration range from 15 to 25 dollars; some copies are a little cheaper, depending on the version.
Cut:
Hitting our land drops especially early can help to accelerate our game plan a ton, allowing us to be very strong in the early-mid game. Exploration is an extremely powerful example of that if we drop this on the first or second turn we can be extremely strong and have a much faster game, while we certainly arent a speedy deck being able to hit our bigger creatures like Muldrotha, the Gravetide a couple of turns early is very strong and can allow us to be a force to be reckoned with by turn five or six. I chose to cut Essence Anchor mostly because we just don’t need the token production, and in the early game when we play it, it can’t be activated a lot of the time.
Add:
On TCGPlayer, copies of Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth range from 45 to 60 dollars; some copies are a little cheaper, depending on the version.
Cut:
Urborg is one of the best pieces of mana-fixing that we have available to our deck, this card is just a bomb for our deck and can refine our landbase and make it considerably smoother and easier to execute our gameplan, we also have quite a few cards with double or triple black mana symbols so Urborg assists a lot with that. We cut Contaminated Aquifer mostly because it’s a pretty weak dual land, and Urborg is just far better than it.
