Why Chakram Slinger / Chakram Retriever?
Since both Chakram Slinger and Chakram Retriever are partners they naturally play off of each other but they also are great utility pieces! Chakram Slinger can’t damage any planeswalkers in Pauper EDH so we focus on hitting players, Chakram Retriever is no doubt the stronger partner since there are so many sweet cards that we can untap! We can trigger Chakram Retriever an absolute ton of times in even a single turn and once we get going it can be quite hard to stop us!
Deck Overview:
This section contains information about cards in the deck and how they function within the deck! As well as highlighting some of my favorite cards in the deck!
Creatures:
The most important creatures in our deck are creatures that deal damage on spellcast and we have quite a few in Guttersnipe
Instants:
Even though these are instants because of Chakram Retriever
Sorceries:
Just like our instant package we have a bunch of draws and cantrips at sorcery speed as well! Gitaxian Probe
Artifacts:
Most of our artifact package is mana with sweet rocks like Arcane Signet
Enchantments:
Clout of the Dominus
Land Base:
Not a ton to talk about when it comes to our landbase, we of course have the normal Izzet duals like Molten Tributary
Strengths of the Deck:
- Easy to kill creatures / direct damage players
- Ton of card draw
- Can snowball damage very quickly
Weaknesses of the Deck:
- Weak to creature hate
- Deck is noticeably weaker without commanders
- Weak to aggressive strategies
Deck Stats:
Sample Hands:
Main Win Conditions:
There are no infinite combos or loops in the deck but we do have a bunch of creatures as well as our commanders that can help lead us to victory! Our commanders are a very powerful outlet for damage but when combined with cards like Erebor Flamesmith
Conclusion:
Chakram Slinger and Chakram Retriever are two really fun commanders who are an absolute blast to play and just a great time overall! Out of the Battlebond partners these were a pair I was really looking forward to as they are amazing cards from their art to abilities and allow us to play a fun spellslinger style deck with a lot of cards you don’t typically see in these strategies! We are going to keep on untapping on and damaging out our opponents! Thanks for reading to the end and thanks for all of your support!
