Kopala, Warden of Waves Merfolk Brewed EDH

Post has published by BigDoinks
Kopala, Warden of the Waves, is a very strong and very cool merfolk commander who has flown a little bit under the radar. Kopala only has one hundred decks on EDHREC, which is criminally low for one of the most popular creature types in the game. While Merfolk is certainly not as big as something as elves or goblins, they still have a ton of amazing cards and make up a very fun deck to play. Our deck does a lot of things that classic Merfolk decks do, including islandwalk and turning our opponent’s lands into islands, as well as general stat-buffing and being able to make our other creatures unblockable. Merfolk has been around for so long that we have an absolute ton of amazing support like Lord of Atlantis and Silvergill Douser, which are both very strong cards and make our opponents have trouble blocking and allow us to stop their big creatures as well. On top of all of that, our commander provides a ton of utility and allows us to keep the best of the best on the board; giving ward two for abilities targeting and spells targeting our creatures allows us to survive a lot of the removal in the format and generally just make us tough to deal with using single-target removal. This deck is just an absolute blast to pilot, and if you loved Merfolk in modern or any other format, I think you will feel right at home with this one. Without further adieu, let’s get it!

Overseer of Vault 76 Tokens Brewed EDH

Post has published by BigDoinks
Overseer of Vault 76 is extremely underrated; they are in mono-white and are focused on smaller creatures and mono-white is often seen as the weakest color in EDH. Either way there is absolutely no reason there are only nineteen decks on EDHREC! Overseer is a very fun and cool mono-white deck that feels truly like a classic mono-white experience, this deck also has a ton of support and tokens for mono-white is a combination like bread and butter. The main game plan of this deck is to fill up the board and use our commander’s abilities and the rest of our buffs to build up a huge go-wide board and swing for the fences. This deck is perfect for players new and old, and while it is not the best of the best or the strongest deck in EDH, its a blast and amazing to play at casual tables. There are no combos in this deck. What you see is what you get, and what you get is a very fun and flavorful mono-white deck that is a blast to play. If you love mono-white or filling your board to the brim with tokens, then I think you will love this one! Without further adieu, let’s get it!

Commander Mustard Soldiers Brewed EDH

Post has published by BigDoinks
Commander Mustard is an absolute bomb of a commander for the soldier creature type. Due to the limited release and a ton of great options for soldier-focused commanders, Commander Mustard does not get nearly enough love from the community, this has been a pet deck of mine for a long time and is just an absolute blast to play, it feels like classic Boros gameplay and with a ton of creature/token production we can easily amass a true army and hit our opponents hard. From extra combats to protecting and buffing our creatures, this deck is as Boros as they come. All of these elements combine to make a very fun and effective combat deck. We are pretty lower power level on the grand scale of things as we don’t feature any infinite combos or loops, but we make up for it with the theme and generally being great in combat. This deck is a ton of fun, and I am excited to showcase it today. Without further adieu, let’s get it!

Bristly Bill, Spine Sower Counters Brewed EDH

Post has published by BigDoinks
Bristly Bill is just a very fun commander; not only are they fun and flavorful based solely on their name and their art, but they in ability as well; they are just a great commander and a very fun card to build around, whether you go for a casual build or a deck focused on infinite mana and thus infinite combat damage Bristly Bill is a ton of fun to play, for today’s deck we focused on a hybrid deck that does have infinite mana outlets but also really wants to do nothing more than attack and put a ton of +1/+1 counters on our creatures. In addition to the overall hybrid theme, we have some cards to take advantage of Bristly Bill’s landfall, like Awaken the Woods and Oracle of Mul Daya. Bristly Bill being mono-green lends us very well into activating them quite often, and we can easily activate them a couple of times a turn in the late-game. This card is an absolute blast, and I am very excited to showcase this deck without further adieu. Let’s get it!
