10.Tyvar the Bellicose

Tyvar the Bellicose is a great Golgari Elves commander, gone are the days of playing Nath of the Gilt-Leaf for Golgari elves strategys. Tyvar’s ability to give attacking elves deathtouch is a very strong effect. Tyvar may seem just like a typical Golgari elves commander but his second ability prioritizes strong elf staples with mana abilities like Priest of Titania and Canopy Tactician. Tyvar is for sure a unique and interesting twist on the classic elves playstyle while still offering a similar experience. I think tyvar will be a strong mid-tier commander and be good in a lot of decks. Tyvar being Golgari also allows for spells like Damnation and Putrefy. Not only does Black add destruction spells it also adds cards like Miara, Thorn of the Glade and Phyrexian Arena. I think that Tyvar is going to take the elves decks by storm and create a lot of interesting brews.

9.Plargg and Nassari

Plargg and Nassari is an interesting card as I can foresee situations where you opponents takes away something you really want, But free cards are free cards. Being mono-red also leds itself to some interesting deckbuilding choices, there are a lot of high synergy cards you can play like Dance with Calamity and Nalfeshnee. Red has so many cards that have exile effects and Plargg and Nassari is just a continuation of that. Even though this deck is Mono red there are still infinite combos potentials like Reiterate and Jeska's Will. There are many different ways to build Plargg and Nassari, you could even build a Mono red good stuff deck with the commander as the payoff or you could try out a chaos style build with cards like Scrambleverse or Warp World. I think Plargg and Nassari is a fun and interesting commander may not be the strongest on the field but will at least be fun!

8.Sigarda, Font of Blessings

Sigarda is a very interesting Selesyna commander, while she is not something we haven’t seen before she does look like a lot of fun! There are two main ways to build Sigarda either a Humans build or a Angel’s Build. Sigarda is always handing out hexproof which is appreciated for that pesky targeted removal that’s running around. Sigarda’s ability to look at the top card at any time can be helpful in a lot of situations and is much better with miracle cards like Terminus and Topdeck favorite Sensei's Divining Top. Top is also a great way to get your humans or angels to the top so you can cast them at any time, while Sigarda isnt going to break the world I think she is a cool take on the Selesyna playstyle.

7.Niv-Mizzet, Supreme

Niv-Mizzet is a very different Five Color commander, giving all instants and sorcery’s in the graveyard jumpstart can setup some really crazy unexpected plays! Niv-mizzet himself is not easy to cast but is a well stat’d full of stats creature with a decent ability there is a lot of single color removal! Even though the deck is 5 color you are partially limited in your style by having a lot of your instant and sorcery’s be two color so you can take advantage of Niv-Mizzet. Niv-Mizzet is a great spellslinger style deck with the ability to recur some dangerous spells! Even as a spellslinger deck you can also have a great creature package with cards like Crackling Drake and Niv-Mizzet Reborn. There’s even creatures if your graveyard is full of Instant’s and Sorcery’s like Rielle, the Everwise and Haughty Djinn. Niv-Mizzet is a going to be a fun spellslinger deck!

6.Calix, Guided by Fate

Calix is a sweet enchantment commander, he lends himself to a cool playstyle by having a split enchantress playstyle allowing for both enchantment creatures and standard enchantments as well as having an aura theme as well . Calix is great for buffing creatures and copying enchantment’s which can be crazy copying cards like Zendikar Resurgent and Mirari's Wake. Enchantment creatures are also key in this deck being able to copy Eidolon of Blossoms and Sanctum Weaver for huge mana plays. Since this is a Selesyna deck we can play green powerhouses like Craterhoof Behemoth and Genesis Wave and great white protection and kill spells like Teferi's Protection and Swords to Plowshares. Calix is a sweet enchantress commander with cool abilities, Enchantress already has so many great pieces and Calix is just another great one. I think Calix is going to change the enchantment archetype and be the front runner in it.

  1. Kiora, Sovereign of the Deep

Kiora, Soverign of the Deep is in my opinion the best Sea monster style commander, even better than Kenessos, Priest of Thassa I think Kiora’s ability is better than Kenessos due to the fact that it can hit a creature or a spell. I imagine a great day casting something like Tromokratis into Serpent of Yawning Depths and just swinging for a ton.Kiora also has built in protection with her ward 3 which you can never complain about. Kiora synergizes very well with all sea monsters but does especially well with the lower mana monsters like Hullbreaker Horror and Spawning Kraken Now of course these cards are by no means cheap but relative to sea monsters they are easy to hit with Kiora’s ability. I think Kiora is a well statted high power creature. Sea monsters has never been the most popular archetype and I dont think Kiora will make sea monsters a tier 1 option, but I love the design and think it would be amazing and goofy for a lower power playgroup. Kiora reminds me of a deck that you hand the new player who you are teaching and just let them have some easy fun!

4.Sarkhan, Soul Aflame

Sarkhan is a powerful dragon commander who is in interesting colors, {R}{U} is definitely an interesting combo for Dragons but Sarkhan makes it very easy. Instead of a typical 5 color dragon shell we can play more of a Midrange / control strategy, blue is a strong addition in this deck. Not only do we get access to counter magic and ample card draw. Blue even has dragon support with cards like Draconic Lore and Silumgar's Scorn. Naturally we are going to play a bunch of classic blue cards like Cyclonic Rift and Rhystic Study. Sarkhan’s biggest strength is dragons with attack triggers like Drakuseth, Maw of Flames and Hellkite Tyrant I think Sarkhan being able to become an ETB’d dragon until end of turn is a powerful effect and we can abuse that with cards like Goldspan Dragon and Firkraag, Cunning Instigator. Cards like Renari, Merchant of Marvels are especially good in Sarkhan because we can make him bigger on opponents turn’s and have some good combat tricks. Sarkhan is definitely different from your typical dragon’s deck but is a cool switchup and can help introduce the dragons type to control and midrange style players!

3.Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin

Ob Nixilis is an extremely strong commander with a really cool ability, in short bursts this ability can be powerful and can also just go infinite sometimes with cards like All Will Be One. Ob Nixilis is great in a pingers style deck with cards like Kederekt Parasite, Firebrand Archer and Roiling Vortex at the forefront. There are a crazy amount of cards that ping for 1 damage. To some this deck may feel narrow in it’s design, which most builds are a little narrow with nearly every card focusing on dealing one damage, But most of these cards are unplayable in other strategies so they are not your average 100 you sleeve up. Ob nixilis allows for a great suite of creatures to frequently do 1 and trigger him, and he is in the colors best suited to stopping your opponents from getting out of control board states.

2.Karn, Legacy Reforged

Artifacts have always been powerful, Artifact commanders have always been powerful, to no one’s surprise Karn, Legacy Reforged is quite powerful. Karn can really lend himself to multiple playstyle’s I have seen some very cool Voltron style decks with him utilizing the sword cycle and other powerful equipment and also classic make infinite mana combo style artifact decks. Karn’s first ability is great but his second ability is where his power comes from being able to generate a lot of mana early will let you have some crazy big creatures and board states pretty early, casting things like Blightsteel Colossus and Metalwork Colossus in the first few turns of the game is really powerful. Karn is basically a colorless stompy deck with him as the main point of ramp. Cards like Commander's Plate are at their best in this deck. Whether you choose to build Karn in a Voltron style, stompy style or just plain combo. I think Karn is going to be a feared commander no matter what archetype you sit down with!

1.Narset, Enlightened Exile

Wow this card is good! Narset is a awesome commander who just seems like a lot of fun. Giving all of your creatures prowess can flip the game in your favor quickly and lend itself to some massive combat tricks. Combining Narset with cards like Jeskai Ascendancy and Mistfire Adept is crazy powerful. I think the two best playstyles with Narset are a prowess deck or a control deck. Both get value with Prowess being the quicker more aggressive strategy. Being in Jeskai lets us play all the best prowess creatures and countermagic and draw effects. This deck reminds of Khans block so much cant wait to cast Monastery Mentor and Monastery Swiftspear Narset is the real deal and is the best commander out of MOM:Aftermath at least in my opinon not sure how the meta is going to react to her, but I think she will be strong!
