Todays Featured Commander Is:
Twisted Sewer-Witch really is the Rat Queen! She makes all of our rats better, and since we are a relentless rats deck our rats already make themselves bigger and better! This deck is very much a snowball once we get going we can easily turn into an avalanche and end games reliably pretty quickly. Combine this with a good card draw and interaction package and we can take care of our opponents pesky permanents and get more of our rats out! We have a ton of payoffs for the tokens / enchantments that are created by Sewer Witch and continue to drain our opponents!

Why Twisted Sewer-Witch?
The main reason we chose Twisted Sewer Witch is that they make our deck better in every way, they not only create a rat but buff and provide an additional outlet to damage our opponents if the rats die to a board wipe or any other form of removal! Twisted Sewer Witch allows us to continue snowballing really hard and do a ton of damage to our opponents, at 5 mana we can almost always have a decently established board state of rats that we can apply the buff too!

Creatures:
Well we are a Relentless Rats
deck so we have an absolute ton of those! Not a ton too say about them so we will focus on our non-rat creatures! Wicked Visitor
and Grim Guardian
are great ways to produce more rats if ours die, perfect if we are about to recast Sewer Witch! Mirkwood Bats
is another damage machine in the deck that is great for the ETB of Sewer Witch and great when the wicked role creatures die! Gray Merchant of Asphodel
is a game-ending card on its own since 26 of our creatures are double black towards our devotion!
Instants:
We are in Mono-Black so of course we have some removal! Cast Down
, Doom Blade
and Murder
are some pretty good standard pieces of interaction! We also have some really cool cards like Crypt Incursion
which is super strong against any strategy that cares about graveyards or a great way to save ourselves from taking a ton of damage! Darkness
is quite a shocking effect to see outside of green but is another great way to save ourself! In order to get the ETB of Sewer Witch we have Feign Death
and Undying Malice
! Gravepurge
is not only a cantrip but a great way to get all of our rats back!
Sorceries:
The best sorcery in our deck is Echoing Return
which is a great way to get all of our Relentless Rats back! Eriette's Whisper
and Shatter the Oath
are both really strong and valuable effects and they make the same tokens that Sewer Witch makes which is perfect since we have all of the other payoffs! Night's Whisper
, Read the Bones
and Sign in Blood
are all great draw effects with technical drawbacks but the card draw is very worth it! Stir the Grave
and Unearth
are both great ways to get key permanents and creatures back!
Artifacts:
Fellwar Stone
, Charcoal Diamond
are both great early mana sources, Bonder's Ornament
is another great mana source with the added upside of drawing cards! Wedding Invitation
is a really good card that we can use to often times one-shot an opponent and draw a card! Our artifact package is pretty small and is really a small supporting part of the deck!
Enchantments:
The best enchantment in our deck is Necromancer's Magemark
since we can get an extra buff to all of our enchanted creatures and when Twisted Sewer Witch ETB’s they all get this buff! Kaya's Ghostform
is a great card to bring back and Re-ETB so Kaya’s ghostform is a perfect way to get her back! Since we are heavy on ways to bring stuff back from the graveyard Tortured Existence
is a great way to trade a rat for some higher value creatures! Our last enchantment is Oubliette
which is a classic pauper card and just a really efficient and strong removal spell for Mono-Black
Land Base:
Very simple land base, focusing heavily on cycling lands as an extra form of card draw our deck does not really have a defined end-game since we snowball so much so cards like Barren Moor
and Polluted Mire
can be used to draw if we get them later into the game, once we get 5 or 6 lands we can easily considering cycling them!
Strengths of the Deck:
- Easy to win combat
- We scale super fast and get out of hand quickly
- A lot of interaction / card draw
Weaknesses of the Deck:
- Weak to creature hate
- Weak to graveyard hate
- Deck is worse if we are unable to cast Sewer Witch

Main Win Conditions:
Our main win condition is attacking with our rats and casting Sewer Witch to get our rats buffed and when they die we can also bleed our opponents. We also have cards like Gray Merchant of Asphodelthat allows us to deal a ton of damage and can easily end the game on its own or Mirkwood Bats which is a great way to deal damage after we cast Sewer Witch. We are a combat deck with no infinite loops or combos in the deck.
Conclusion:
In Conclusion Twisted Sewer Witch is a really powerful commander that is a great contributor to us wining games, there are many rat-based paths to go down but relentless rats is the most damaging and straight forward path. Sewer Witch is a great way to make all of our relentless rats more deadly, they are already pretty formidable attackers themselves! Hope you enjoyed this deck and WOE Week!
