Todays Featured Commander Is:
Wingmantle Chaplain is at the helm and ready to put a ridiculous amount of birds onto the battlefield, since we are in mono-white we can easily blink Wingmantle Chaplain and make a crazy amount of birds! Since we are a defender based deck we can win combat very easily against aggressive strategies, while we are held back by being in mono-white there are still a lot of strengths of the deck! Without further adieu lets get it!

Why Wingmantle Champlain?
Wingmantle Champlain is the biggest piece of our deck, which is absolutely perfect that they are in the command zone! Wingmantle is the key piece of our deck and also our main win condition, with blinks and re-etb Wingmantle we can easily overwhelm the board and swing for the fences, whether we are re-etb’ing Wingmantle or just making a token every time we have a creature with defender ETB! Wingmantle is the real deal and is the glue that holds this deck together!
Deck Overview:
This section contains information about cards in the deck and how they function within the deck! As well as highlighting some of my favorite cards in the deck!
Creatures:
This may come as a shock but there is a lot of defenders in our deck, there are so many and truthfully a lot of them are unremarkable and are just strong blockers but we do have some with interesting effects like One-Eyed Scarecrow which is a great way to make the flying onslaught much less strong against us! Primal Clay is another really cool card while we typically have it come in as a defender, there is not really a bad option here and all of them can be strong and are situation dependent! Shield Sphere on turn 1 can basically be a hard counter to aggressive strategies since we can cast it for free. Eagles of the North and Dawnfeather Eagle are more cards that can help us end the game! Kor Skyfisher and Whitemane Lion are bounce spells attached to creatures which are absolutely perfect to re-ETB Wingmantle Chaplain!
Instants:
Our instant package is where nearly all of our blink effects are with sweet cards like Cloudshift and Ephemerate
Sorceries:
Some of the best cards in our deck are Silverflame Ritual
Artifacts:
If there is one thing most of our defenders are weak against is flying creatures so Spidersilk Net
Enchantments:
Lumithread Field
Land Base:
We are a mono-color deck so we of course have a pretty simple land-base! We are running a decent amount of cycling / draw lands to supplement our card draw like Secluded Steppe
Strengths of the Deck:
- Can easily win combat
- Strong against aggressive strategies
- Wingmantle Chaplain can produce a ridiculous amount of creatures
Weaknesses of the Deck:
- Not a lot of card draw
- Very weak to counterspells
- Very weak to decks that do not win through combat
Deck Stats:
Sample Hands:
Main Win Conditions:
We have no infinite combos or loops in the deck, we typically win by ETB’ing Wingmantle Chaplain and producing a ton of tokens, with that we can re-etb Wingmantle with a ton of blink effects like Cloudshift
Conclusion:
Wingmantle Chaplain is a really cool card that is a really strong commander for Pauper EDH and is a ton of fun to play! While I have really been on a blink kick lately, this deck is a interesting iteration of it and a ton of fun to play! Wingmantle Chaplain is a great commander for any newer player or just anyone who loves mono-white or defenders / tokens strategies! Thanks for the support and reading to the end!
