Catapult Fodder Sacrifice Pauper EDH
Post has published by
Catapult Fodder is just a very cool commander overall; it is a true flavor-win for mono-black as we often load our huge toughness creatures into the catapult and throw them directly into our opponent’s faces! There is no doubt that this is not the most competitive deck in the world but it offers a very fun experience that can do a ton of work and put a lot of pressure on our opponents, especially with cards like Unhallowed Phalanx which is a cool thirteen damage to an opponents face and a great choice to recur with some of our recursion like Feign Death or Wander in Death. Since we have a focus on high-toughness creatures, we are very well-positioned against aggressive strategies since we can block their early-game offense and output a lot of damage in the mid-late game. This deck is just a blast; if you are looking for a fun deck to play amongst friends, I think that is a great candidate. This deck is just a blast, if you are looking for a fun deck to play amongst friends I think that is a great candidate. I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I did! Coram, the Undertaker Graveyard Party Brewed EDH
Post has published by
Coram, the Undertaker, is by far one of my favorite commanders to come out of MH3; this card just feels like a true Jund commander. Coram embraces his color identity very well and is just a very fun commander to pilot. We can hit very hard and are built to fill our graveyard quickly and make our commander huge. Some of the best examples of cards that help our commander out a ton are cards like Impervious Greatwurm and Titanoth Rex which are great ways to make our commander huge and can easily allow us to one-shot an opponent. We also have a heavy focus on mill since we can recur lands and cards from our graveyard quite often with the help of our commander. This is a graveyard-focused value deck that can be very strong against a myriad of strategies and is overall pretty resistant, we are quite weak to graveyard hate but are pretty strong overall. On top of our commander being a great source of damage we also have strong creatures like Fiend Artisan and Golgari Grave-Troll which can also help us maximize our damage and hit hard. Combine all of that with some sweet payoffs for a big graveyard like Deathbloom Ritualist and Out of the Tombs, and we have a pretty sweet gameplan and can put a lot of pressure on our opponents. Tesak, Judith’s Hellhound Dogs Brewed EDH
Post has published by
In our infinite quest of finding cool and interesting commanders that don’t get enough love, we have landed on Tesak, a pretty cool commander from the MKM commander decks that has a measly one hundred decks according to EDHREC, Tesak is also very interesting because they support the dog creature type which outside of a few popular examples you don’t see a ton of. There is a shocking amount of mono-red dogs within EDH, and honestly, a lot of them are pretty great. There is no doubt that our commander is arguably the best card in our deck and provides a ton of utility and support. We have a ton of strong and awesome dogs throughout the deck that help us deal a ton of damage, like Bolt Hound and Komainu Battle Armor, which help us increase our damage and in the case of battle armor really screw up an opponents turn by goading all of their creatures. Tesak provides a ton of awesome utility for us and helps us get a lot of mana for strong finishers like Electrodominance and Fall of the Titans. With the errata of all hounds to have the creature type of dog, we have access to a ton of great creatures that were not typed as dogs before. While this deck does have some of the weaknesses that almost all aggressive decks have, it’s fun, on-theme, and just a blast to pilot. Without further aid, let’s get it!
Kopala, Warden of Waves Merfolk Brewed EDH
Post has published by
Kopala, Warden of the Waves, is a very strong and very cool merfolk commander who has flown a little bit under the radar. Kopala only has one hundred decks on EDHREC, which is criminally low for one of the most popular creature types in the game. While Merfolk is certainly not as big as something as elves or goblins, they still have a ton of amazing cards and make up a very fun deck to play. Our deck does a lot of things that classic Merfolk decks do, including islandwalk and turning our opponent’s lands into islands, as well as general stat-buffing and being able to make our other creatures unblockable. Merfolk has been around for so long that we have an absolute ton of amazing support like Lord of Atlantis and Silvergill Douser, which are both very strong cards and make our opponents have trouble blocking and allow us to stop their big creatures as well. On top of all of that, our commander provides a ton of utility and allows us to keep the best of the best on the board; giving ward two for abilities targeting and spells targeting our creatures allows us to survive a lot of the removal in the format and generally just make us tough to deal with using single-target removal. This deck is just an absolute blast to pilot, and if you loved Merfolk in modern or any other format, I think you will feel right at home with this one. Without further adieu, let’s get it!
